Approval workflow/delegation for time off requests
Shelton Wirth
Our current policy requires a 2-step approval flow for time off requests. We'd love the ability to define workflows where approvals can be routed or delegated automatically by admin rules, rather than relying on agents to choose an approver.
More details:
Agents use Assembled for requesting PTO, but managers rely on Workday to validate available balances before WFM can approve requests based on business needs.
The requested enhancement is to support multi-layered approval logic, such that:
- A request is first routed to the agent’s manager for initial approval (e.g. to confirm available balance in Workday)
- Then routed to the WFM/admin team for business needs approval and scheduling impact
Current functionality only supports notifying multiple users or approvers, but not sequential approval steps or conditional logic. This feature would better align Assembled’s time off flow with how larger orgs manage balances and approvals across systems like Workday.

Shelton Wirth understood the current functionality but this causes a lot of noise for approvers. Are there best practices you can share so notifications will be targeted?
